Our Brief History

The Sagada Lemon Pie House is owned by Joseph Daoas and Katrina Daoas. It was Joseph's mother, Elena Daoas, a native from Candon, Ilocos Sur (married to Bartolome Daoas, originally from Poblacion, Sagada) that started it all. It was her original recipe and she passed it to Joseph that later improved the recipe to make it taste even better.

It took 12 years for Joseph to perfect the recipe. He experimented to get the right amount of flour for the crust and the right texture for the filling. It was 2 years ago when the lemon pie reached its greatest improvement. But of course, it didn't end there.

The couple opened the Sagada Lemon Pie House to the public for the first time, but it wasn't a hit. So Katrina decided to bring her lemon pies to the public market, downtown Poblacion, to get better sales. Soon, more and more people buy their pies, and the rest is history.

Nowadays, you can taste some of their lemon pies in local stores and restaurants in Sagada. Just ask where the Sagada Lemon Pie House is and anyone from town can tell you where it is. They also serve fresh brewed coffees, egg pies, and even pastries. The Sagada Lemon Pie House is located in Atey, Daoangan, Sagada.

Are you by any chance related to the owner of Residential Lodge (Mary and William Daoas)? I haven't seen the Lemon Pie House and I've been to Sagada three times already! I'll definitely check your place out. My team is working on a website about Sagada in hopes of promoting it to the adventure seeking travelers.

May I feature some photos from this website? We also intend to have a comprehensive list of restaurants.

MAYA-MAYAT! I love lemon pies. My sisters bake them too. We had these as treats while growing up in Sagada. Our lemons came from Atowanan.

God bless your business. Cheers and great job!

This place is just amazing! The lemon pie is soooo good! We had the privilege to be toured around their home. Tita Katrina is just too sweet and accomodating! This place is definitely for keeps! To tita Katrina and tito Joseph, thank you for welcoming us! More power!

i have visited your place the first time last december, shortly after Christmas although I've been to Sagada twice.

i liked your egg pie more than the lemon pie. lemon tea is so good. it's a pity for me that i haven't tried the brewed coffee. i also liked the chairs and tables and the decors. a nice place to hang out in the afternoon.

Thank you VISIT SAGADA for always featuring us and for always supporting us. May God Bless You.

Anonymous, Yes, we starting doing the interior only March of last year. You should come visit us when you come to Sagada and see the difference. Our biggest smiles and warm welcome will surely not change.

Caren Juan, Thank you for your kind words. Yes, we give free tour of the house when there are not too many customers in the shop.

Anonymous, Too bad you never get to try our brewed coffee. It is Sagada's best kept secret. Maybe next time when you come back.

I love your pies just like how much I love SAGADA. I miss your lemon pie. I actually bought a box as pasalubong. Good thing its still in good form when I arrived home even if we stayed overnight at Banaue.

I featured you in my blogsite with a link to your site.

More Power!
